Today, at least since three in the morning, there has been a "denial of service attack" on Conservapedia. What this means to the average layman reading this is a DDoS attack is conducted by the liberal left when they are faced with an idea they don't like; they try to shut it down. It's no different then when someone comes into your room and changes the channel from the TV program you were watching, just to force you to watch what he likes. And this time, it's all because of a simple cartoon on the main page, one that mocks the concept of evolution.

Now, I'm going to give you the reader a historical incident which is similar. It is something where you have to set your Way-Back machine to about the late 1870's, in New York City. The power that held a strangle-hold on New York at that time was the Democratic Party. Democrats ran everything, and everything was a racket to them. To get something built, to get something done, you had to pay kickbacks to some Democratic crony in power, and the man in charge who demanded the greatest amount of cash was William Marcy Tweed. Boss Tweed. He and his Tammany Hall cronies were adept at skimming money off building contracts to the point where they amassed a $12 million dollar fortune (some estimates place the figure as high as $200,000,000), a king's ransom in those days. The contracts involving public works overseen by Tammany and Tweed were riddled with corruption.

Tweed bribed a lot of people to get his way, but he couldn't get past one man who who knew a rat when he saw one: Thomas Nast. Nast happened to be a cartoonist, responsible for the image of the elephant as the Republican Party's mascot, and the current image of Santa Claus. When it came to Tweed, Nast used his pen to point out just how bad the Boss really was. Tweed as a buzzard waiting for the next meal; Tweed in a circle of cronies as they're deflecting blame; Tweed drunk on his own power; Tweed waiting at the voting booth, intending to ensure the proper "outcome" of an election. And those cartoons had a effect, as the walls he had built had shown signs of collapsing. "My constituents don't know how to read," Tweed was supposed to have said, "but they can't help seeing them damned pictures!" And the pictures did have an effect. His corruption was outted; he escaped to Spain, where he was identified through one of Nast's cartoons. He died in a jail cell in 1878.

Here's what we have going on right now. There are people who do not like conservatism; they do not like the morals and responsibility and accountability which is attached to conservatism. They cannot stand God, they cannot stand the Bible, and many of them are quick to dismiss "Jeebus" - as they call Jesus - as nothing more than a farce. And most of all they cannot stand anyone who would adhere to any of it. What they did to Conservapedia during the past 24 hours is very typical of their "philosophy", which is to shut down any kind of speech they don't like. It's to control what goes on in the public sphere regarding speech and ideas, exactly like Tweed attempted to do over a century ago in New York. One could even go so far as to say that this is the liberal's version of what Islamic fanatics attempted to do against the individuals who created the "Mohammed" cartoons in the past few years.

And these same liberals say they're on the side of tolerance? The only thing they actually did was to prove us to be right all along.

And they got offended over a simple cartoon!

Coward, part 2

One coward goes down, it seams, then another crawls out from under his rock. This case has a different angle to it, but the motives are the same.

Set the time machine back to October, 2010. We had a user on Conservapedia named Willminator, and he happened to be the unwilling participant in a fight with a certain individual who calls himself "Jeff Tavolieri". The fight took place via emails, and Will published those emails on his user page for all to see. The last one placed on that page from "Jeff" was this:

Sent: Tue, September 21, 2010 2:06:13 PM
Subject: you will never stop us

"You may have it figured out, but you can never stop us. Let this be a warning to you: I am pro-abortion. I do support population control. I do support letting the weak die (or even helping them die). I do want to take your guns away you. I will see to it that no prayer is ever given in a public school. I will fight to destroy the institution of marriage as you know it. I will indoctrinate your children and insulate them from your religious dogma. I will fight the conservative myth of american exceptionalism. I will fight for a one world government. I will fight for gays in the military even if it weakens it. I will lie, revise history, cheat, steal and censor to further our goals. What are you going to do about it? I will stop at no end, but you have to operate within the fictional bounds of your morality. How can you win this game when I can break the rules? Give it up and get out of america while you still can because nothing will stop us. Do you think you're going to fight? Do you think we would have any problem using chemical warfare or weapons of mass destruction? Do you think we care if women and children get in the way? Face it, we will win. Liberalism and atheism will prevail. The conservative movement will be systematically dismantled and there is NOTHING you can do. Wake up to the facts. Wake up to a war that you simply cannot win."

But it gets better. On the website known as "RationalWiki" this same "Jeff" - who called himself "JeffT" on that site - stated that the emails were made up (see the arrow in the picture); they weren't his, even though he admitted he added the words "and stupid" to the tail-end of one of them dated October 9. So, they're either "Jeff's" emails...or they're not.

Now, advance the time machine forward a couple of months. "Jeff" crawls out again from under his rock and attacks me personally. In another series of emails, "Jeff" decides I was responsible for posting the previous correspondence with Willminator in public and sending them out on the internet. In his whining he says:

"From your latest discussiongroupgate, I see you are the one responsible for forwarding emails around the conservative blogosphere. Do you know what these "conservatives" on those forums have done to me? I have received more hate mail than I can count and no less than a dozen death threats. Somehow, some of these lunatics have gotten my phone number. What do you think about that? Do you think it's funny that these people found out where I work? That they've called and harassed me? That I nearly was fired because of all this? You should be disgusted with yourself."

My response to him:

"Since you have had "death threats" - or so you say - you're going to get a hold of your local police department and file a report. You're going to provide evidence that you did receive these threats, as well as provide your boss's phone number to them as well, so they could corroborate the threat of firing. You're going to explain to them how they were able to determine your private address, phone number, SSN, and other things after looking at a disposable email account which you now have and are replying to me with. You're also going to explain to them - as well as a JUDGE - how you got a hold of "discussiongate," which is a private web-based group meant for others to discuss the ways and means of protecting Conservapedia."

"Jeff" would have none of that. Since this little war was begun, he has continued with his demands that I provide access to my lawyer, details of my location, etc. But even he admitted he's still not sure of what - if anything at all - that I did:

"How in the world do you think that's going to happen without your contact information???

I'm still not even sure what (if anything) you did, because you're not being honest."

The fact is that "Jeff" is the one who's not being honest. He was slaughtered by Willminator in the earlier email series; he admitted those emails were not his; now he's attacking me by stating those emails were his after all. And the "death threats" he claimed? Just where is the police report at detailing them? How he could have received threats of any kind based on nothing more than a disposable email address is beyond me, and when I typed in "Jeff Tavolieri" in Google, I got no references at all for anyone with that name.

Except one.

It's called RationalWiki. A place called a "trash heap" by one, and "inhabited by thugs" by another. They're on record as using "cyber-terror tactics" in an effort to remove Conservapedia from the internet; they're the ones who employ DDoS attacks, major and minor vandalism, links to porn and worse...and all because they were thrown out of Conservapedia when they couldn't get their way. Which means - like the "suicide rant" in Wikipedia back in January and detailed in an earlier posting - this "Jeff" was a fake. So, what he said above back in October applies right now, and he is brutally honest in all of his hate:

"I will lie, revise history, cheat, steal and censor to further our goals. Face it, we will win."

I disagree with you, "Jeff". You lost.

Update...

Since I posted this it was only a matter of time - in fact, less than two hours - that "Jeff" would make his response, and this is what he said:

"What you didn't get through your thick skull was that later emails with Will were edited...by Will. Unless you think I'm Will and I was logged into his CP account editing my letter to myself which I posted on my own userpage."

Now the October emails in Willminator's page are back to not being "Jeff's", or heavily altered. If that's the case, if these emails are not "Jeff's" at all, then he has absolutely no reason for attacking me.

And he ends this latest one by saying "You're lucky I don't kick your ass you piece of (censored)". Ahh, I would have loved to see him try to do that, especially in a courtroom. But that has become typical of those whose lies have gotten the best of them, because when they're caught at it, they whine and scream and holler.

Oh well.

And another update...

March 11, 2011.

Now he's got to report me to Blogger; he's upset that I "outed" him as being a fake and a fraud, and as at the beginning, he's got to engage in harassment:

"hey, loser, nice blog. i've contacted blogspot about having it removed and providing logs of your actions."

I'm still waiting for him to carry out his threat of court action. Look's like I'll be waiting a long, long time.
